Committee Clarifies Use of Telephone Notifications During Championship Matches

GENEVA — The Office of the Secretariat reminds all competitors that the Committee may communicate official match designations via telephone, including during the final moments of a contest.

Telephone notifications are considered fully binding whether or not other participants are able to hear both sides of the conversation.

The Committee further confirms that the timing of an incoming call is not itself evidence of procedural irregularity.

Individuals wishing to question a telephone designation are invited to submit Form A–01 and await the usual determination.
