Hall Congratulates Household Competitors on Exceptionally Successful Preseason

Several competitors recorded impressive results against the reigning World Champion. Officials described the performances as encouraging.

GENEVA — The International UNO Hall of Champions today congratulated a group of household competitors following what officials described as an exceptionally productive period of preseason competition.

The Committee reviewed reports of several matches in which reigning World Champion Stephen Boudreau was defeated, in some cases repeatedly.

Officials confirmed that the reported victories were legitimate and praised the standard of play demonstrated by the participating competitors.

“We are very pleased with their progress,” said a spokesperson for the Office of Competitive Development. “They appear to have won quite a lot.”

Dr. Eleanor Van Der Berg, Director of Historical Records, confirmed that the defeats had been entered into the Hall’s records.

“Our records confirm that Mr. Boudreau lost the matches in question. They do not indicate that the championship was at stake. These are separate fields in our database.”

The Office also confirmed receiving supplemental explanations from several participants, all describing substantially the same outcomes.

The Committee encouraged all competitors to take pride in their accomplishments and reminded them that official Certificates of Recreational Victory are available upon request.

The Hall expressed hope that participants would continue developing their skills throughout the remainder of the preseason.

No championship matches were scheduled during the period under review.

The Committee considers the preseason a success.
