Committee Announces Independent Review of Previous Independent Review
The Hall has commissioned a further examination of its governance practices following questions about the independence of its earlier investigation.
GENEVA — The International UNO Hall of Champions has announced the completion of a second independent review into the procedures used during its previous independent review.
The original investigation found no evidence of improper championship designations or institutional misconduct.
Following questions concerning the independence of that investigation, the Committee authorized a further examination.
The second review was conducted by the Office of Independent Oversight, a newly established department within the Championship Sanctioning Committee.
Officials confirmed that the review team had been granted full access to all documents selected for examination.
The team interviewed members of the original review committee, examined the procedures used during their investigation, and assessed whether those procedures complied with the standards established by the Committee.
The findings were unanimous.
The original independent review had been conducted in accordance with the Committee’s procedures for independent reviews.
Sir Reginald P. Worthington III welcomed the findings.
“I believe this demonstrates our willingness to subject ourselves to the same scrutiny we would expect of any organization operating under our authority.”
Asked what distinguished the second review from the first, officials noted that the investigations had been conducted in separate conference rooms.
The Committee described this as an additional safeguard.
No further review is planned.
